Suffix / names professions/ Adjectives

1. Use the suffixes -er, -or and -ist to form names of professions.

 Example: A person who plays the violinViolinist

a) A person who teaches Math.________________

d) A person who translates books and articles.______________

e) A person who directs a film. ___________________________

f) A person who writes articles or reports for newspapers. __________________


2. Study the note and then add the correct suffixes to complete the chart. You may use a dictionary if you like. 



To change these verbs into nouns, you add the sufixes –ion, - ment  or –ation

To change these adjectives into nouns, you can add the sufixes –ity or -ness
